Marble is easy to take care of with some concerns.
Marble and other natural stones are a porous material meaning that air, water, and other fluids are able to flow through. That is why marble should be sealed. As well as resealed regularly depending on the type.
One thing to remember with marble is that it is likely to get etches and stains.
Etches can happen when something acidic comes in contact with the marble and leave a dull spot that is often lighter in color.
Acidic products are used mostly in the kitchen.
Ex: tomatoes, vinegar, fruit, dressings, coffee, juice, soda, wine, etc.
If a spill does occur, you want to clean up the mess right away. If the spill is left for a while then a stain will occur.
To be cautious and avoid the stains and etches you want to use cutting boards and coasters to protect your marble.
It is also recommended to clean marble countertops daily. To do so it is recommended to use a soft cloth with mild soap or a natural stone cleaner.
